Beyond Flesh and Bone – What Makes You, You?

Beyond Flesh and Bone – What Makes You, You?

Have you ever really considered what your body is?

It’s a magnificent, cooperative entity, some 37.2 trillion cells working in harmony. Your bones, tissues, blood, organs and skin all come together to support your life in physical form.

But what about the other part of you? The non – physical. The energetic. The life force that animates your being?

Have you ever wondered how these two distinct aspects, the physical and the non – physical, work together?

Your physical body moves, acts and responds to the world.
Your non – physical self expresses and creates through thoughts, feelings, senses, imagination and intention.

Together, they form a dynamic duo: the seen and the unseen, shaping your experience every day.

So here we are in July…
A month of long days, abundant sunshine, and outward expansion. And yet, even now we begin to tilt slowly toward winter’s stillness.

This moment, like all moments, is a paradox: we’re witnessing what is (already formed). And simultaneously, we are creating what is coming next – through our thoughts, feelings and focus.

When we focus on what is, we’re looking at a reality already formed. But when we tap into the energy of what we want to create, we begin shaping what will be.

“That which is like unto itself is drawn.” If your general demeanor or experience feels joyful and open – beautiful! You’re in alignment with your Source.

If your current experience feels painful, uncomfortable or lacking, it’s simply showing you where your attention has been. And you can change that.

And, I speak from experience.
For years I lived in a loop of quiet anxiety. Of course there was love and laughter – but my emotional baseline was tense, fearful. My inner world was an uncomfortable place to hang out. So much so, I didn’t even realize it because it felt normal.

Eventually, my body said “enough”. Autoimmune symptoms appeared. I saw a specialist and was prescribed medications I was told I’d need for the rest of my life.

But something in me said: There must be another way.

And grace came in the form of my youngest son, who signed me up for a workshop on meditation and brain science.

It changed everything.

I learned to turn my thoughts and emotions in the direction of what I wanted to create. I slowly healed, I came off the medications. By shifting my focus, I began to reshape my emotional patterns and create a new experience.

And now, with a regular Yoga and Meditation practice, I live each day more aligned with the life I want to lead.

And you can too.
